Mu’min comes from the word amaan which means:

1. To attest or confirm or

2. To grant safety.

If the first meaning is taken, Al-Mu’min (Jalla Jalaalahoo) is He (Jalla Jalaalahoo) Who :

a.  Affirms His Own Existence (Jalla Jalaalahoo), in His (Jalla Jalaalahoo) Book, and by means of clear signs.

b. Affirms the truthfulness of the Ambiyaa (Alayhis Salaam) through different miracles and signs.

c. Affirms the Promises He (Jalla Jalaalahoo) Made to His (Jalla Jalaalahoo) Slaves, and entirely Fulfils whatever it encompassed i.e. Sustenance in this world, and Reward for their good actions in the hereafter. 

d. Affirms the thoughts of His (Jalla Jalaalahoo) Believing Slaves (regarding His Being (Jalla Jalaalahoo)), and does not destroy their hopes.

If the second meaning is taken: Al-Mu’min (Jalla Jalaalahoo) is that Being (Jalla Jalaalahoo) Who Grants Safety to His (Jalla Jalaalahoo) Servants, from the difficulties of this world, and the punishment of the hereafter.In this world of flux, the existence of peace and safety is visible, soley due to the Being of Al-Mu’min (Jalla Jalaalahoo), otherwise it is impossible for peace and safety to reign for even a single moment.

As long as, and wherever He (Jalla Jalaalahoo) Wishes, He (Jalla Jalaalahoo) Grants safety and peace. And when and wherever He (Jalla Jalaalahoo) Wishes, He (Jalla Jalaalahoo) Removes His (Jalla Jalaalahoo) Awarded Safety and Protection. When He (Jalla Jalaalahoo) Exposes  His (Jalla Jalaalahoo) Quality of Force and Subjugation (Jalla Jalaalahoo), either due to some  Wisdom, or as a means of Punishment, or for any other reason, peace will be eliminated in that region. 

The existence of peace and safety of our body is also dependant on Al-Mu’min (Jalla Jalaalahoo), else we can never remain secure and safe for even a second. This is due to the fact that our bodies are made up of such contrasting elements, which cannot be housed together. However, Al-Mu’min (Jalla Jalaalahoo) has placed them in such a beautiful pattern, that they will all work perfectly, as long as He (Jalla Jalaalahoo) Wishes, else chaos will result.

Our body is a small universe, just like this world. It is made up of contrasting elements that work together. The earth is filled with such hot matter, that in a moment, by the Command of Allaah (Jalla Jalaalahoo), it can incinerate everything.  It can shred the interior of the earth, and make its pieces take to the air, such that huge mountains will be like airborne cotton wool. If Allaah (Jalla Jalaalahoo) Leaves the wind Unfettered, it would blow everything, all over. It the water is Let Loose, it would drown everybody. Snakes, scorpions, and insects would cause great harm to all creation; wild animals and predators would spread destruction, if left Unbridled by Allaah (Jalla Jalaalahoo). If the rains and lightning were not subjected to the Command of Allaah (Jalla Jalaalahoo), then obliteration and annihilation would ensue.

In spite of all these causes of destruction, the earth remains stable and peaceful. This is only due to the Quality of Peace of Al-Mu’min (Jalla Jalaalahoo). Unseen calamities, plagues, sicknesses, and germs encompass this world, and yet we remain safe. Flies and mosquitoes are sufficient for our destruction; however, Al-Mu’min (Jalla Jalaalahoo) Restrains them. He (Jalla Jalaalahoo) takes as much work as He (Jalla Jalaalahoo) Wishes to take from them. In whichever unclean place He (Jalla Jalaalahoo) Wishes, He (Jalla Jalaalahoo) Revokes His (Jalla Jalaalahoo) Safety,  plague epidemics result in the aftermath. 

The purpose for earth’s existence is for man himself. This world is full of thieves, dacoits, oppressors, people taking bribes, people fighting, depraved people, people causing mischief, and murderers. Then too, man sleeps soundly as Al-Mu’min (Jalla Jalaalahoo) has Kept them all under His (Jalla Jalaalahoo) Bridle. If they were not kept under control, then they would destroy each other.
